Uflex Business Expansion: Flexible packaging and solutions manufacturing company Uflex Limited is going to invest more than Rs 700 crore to increase the packaging film production capacity at its plant in Dharwad, Karnataka. A senior official of the company gave this information.
This investment will add a new capacity of 54,000 tonnes per annum to the plant, taking the company’s global packaging film capacity from 6,36,160 tonnes per annum to 6,90,160 tonnes per annum.

Rajesh Bhatia, Group President and CFO of Uflex Limited, told PTI, “We are going to invest more than Rs 700 crore to increase our packaging film production capacity in Dharwad, Karnataka. This project will bring new capacity of 54,000 tonnes per year. Taking his point forward, Rajesh Bhatia said that this will strengthen our portfolio.
This expansion in Dharwad follows the recently completed aseptic packaging capacity addition in Sanand, Gujarat. Capacity at Sanand was increased from seven billion packs per year to 12 billion packs per year. Giving further information, Bhatia said, “Apart from this, three big strategic projects are also running at a good pace.
Information given about global plants
These include an aseptic plant with a capacity of 12 billion packs in Egypt, a plant of 80 million WPP bags in Mexico and a recycling plant of about 40,000 tonnes per year in Noida. All these projects will significantly increase our global packaging capacity.
