Pilibhit News: After many technical hurdles, slow work and frequently changing deadlines, this much awaited bridge on the Hardoi Branch Canal of Pilibhit is finally ready. Although its formal inauguration is yet to take place, vehicles are now plying on the bridge daily, which has made the traffic easier.
Pilibhit: The people of Pilibhit are going to get relief from the long standing jam on the bridge of Hardoi Branch Canal. The bridge that was being built on the canal for a long time is ready. Vehicular movement has also started from here. However, this bridge has not yet been formally inaugurated. It is worth noting that to get rid of the jam on the narrow and dilapidated bridge on the Hardoi Branch Canal between Pilibhit-Puranpur on the Assam Highway, the bridge was being constructed for a long time at a cost of Rs 27.41 crore.
However, more than two years have passed since the construction of the bridge started. First of all, a 74.8 meter long steel bridge was installed here, after which the work of approach road of the bridge under construction was going on. Now, after all the hurdles, the new bridge of Hardoi Branch Canal is ready and traffic has been started on the new bridge.
There seemed to be a traffic jam several kilometers long.
It is noteworthy that this bridge connects Pilibhit district to the state capital Lucknow. In such a situation, people coming not only from Pilibhit but also from all the surrounding areas use this road to go to Lucknow. Due to the old bridge being dilapidated and narrow, only a limited number of vehicles are allowed to pass through the bridge by the police personnel. This is the reason why jams of several kilometers long are seen on this bridge every day. However, now after the new bridge becomes operational, the pedestrians including the local people will get a lot of relief.
When will these bridges be constructed?
The construction of a new bridge on the Hardoi Branch Canal on the Pilibhit Puranpur Highway may provide a lot of relief to the local people, but due to the damage to the Daga and Kalinagar bridges on the Hardoi Branch Canal, the bridges have been closed. These bridges also have to be rebuilt which is currently in the proposal stage.
