Actually, tourists have started arriving in large numbers in Kullu and Manali. More tourists are expected to reach here in large numbers during Christmas and New Year. In view of this, Kullu Police Administration has provided new vehicles and also deployed an army of soldiers to maintain the traffic system and safety of the tourists.
SP Kullu Madan Lal said that the number of tourists increases on Christmas and New Year. In such a situation, vehicles have been given to the police across the state, so that the tariff system can be kept smooth. He told that Kullu Police has also been given 8 new vehicles and 5 are patrolling electric vehicle cars. Apart from this, a 4 by 4 vehicle, an interceptor and a backup vehicle have been provided. He told that with the help of these vehicles the police will patrol from Bajaura to Manali.
Traffic points should be distributed among different sectors in Manali.
SP Madan Lal said that this time additional police forces have been called to ensure that tourists do not face any problem during Christmas and New Year. He said that apart from the soldiers doing duty in Kullu district, 5 Reserve Force and 250 additional Home Guard soldiers will be on duty. Traffic points will be created in Manali by dividing them into different sectors. SP Kullu said that additional police personnel are expected to arrive by December 20. In such a situation, people will be posted at different places regarding traffic arrangements in Kullu Manali.
Apart from Manali, tourists also visit Kasol.
Tourists reaching Kullu during Christmas and New Year also visit many places like Kasol of Manikarna Valley and Tirthan Valley and Jibhi of Banjar Valley. In such a situation, police force will be deployed at different points to maintain the smooth traffic system in these areas.
Cases of hooliganism come to light
Apart from Kullu and Manali, some tourist spots of the district are crowded with tourists every year for Christmas and New Year celebrations. In such a situation, many times a ruckus is created by the tourists even after drinking alcohol. One has to face traffic jams due to wrong parking also. In such a situation, police personnel will be deployed in tight areas from Bhuntar to Kasol. Similarly, police personnel will be deployed in Banjar from Larji to Jigbi. The police will also keep an eye on the hoodlums.
