Counting forms have reached nine assembly constituencies of the district, but a large number of voters are not filling them and returning them. Despite continuous explanation, people are procrastinating, due to which the work pressure on the BLO has increased and the entire process is being affected.
Agra: The administration has expedited the work to complete the special intensive vetting process on time in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh. However, the biggest challenge emerging in the SIR campaign is that a large number of voters are not filling and submitting the counting forms. Due to this, BLO is facing continuous problems and the entire process is getting disrupted.
Forms have reached nine assembly constituencies of the district
SIR campaign is being carried forward rapidly in all the nine assembly constituencies of Agra district. According to BLO, the counting forms have reached almost all the voters. Despite this, many people are still not filling the form and submitting it back. BLOs are repeatedly contacting people and appealing to them to submit the forms.
Delay in filling the form, BLO has to struggle
Many BLOs told that they are going door to door throughout the day convincing people to fill the forms, but the voters are not ready to listen to them. Some people are not returning the forms saying that the BLO should fill their forms. The BLO clarified that if they had to fill each voter’s form themselves, it would be impossible to complete the work on time. BLO also said that despite giving complete information to the people, many voters do not want to understand. They are not taking the form seriously, which is directly impacting the process.
Voters are making excuses, even complaining about not having a photo
Harikant, a BLO, said that many voters make excuses that they do not have the photograph or they do not understand the form. He said that many people are filling the form and submitting it, but there are a large number of people who have not even opened the form yet. According to him, this situation shows lack of awareness. He said that the SIR process can also be easily seen online, but most of the people are not using it.
Voters said: There is lack of awareness, fill the form soon
Agra resident voter Abhijeet Kulshrestha said that there is a huge lack of awareness among the people about this process. He told that any person can go online and get information about the SIR process. He appealed to the residents not to fall prey to misconceptions or rumors and fill their forms as soon as possible and submit them to the BLO. He also said that the form can be filled easily in Hindi language and it is important to submit it on time to ensure your name in the voter list.
Appeal for cooperation from voters
The administration and BLO are continuously explaining to the people that the SIR process is an important step to make the election system strong and accurate. Therefore, it is necessary that all voters fill and submit their forms on time, so that there is no problem of any kind at the last moment.
