Gumla: The prevalence of fast food is increasing day by day. Be it village or city, young or old, people of all sections are liking its taste very much. But amidst all this, the charm of Dhuska, a traditional dish found in Gumla district of Jharkhand, still remains intact. Not only this, this special dish is definitely prepared in everyone’s home during festivals and special occasions. Making it is considered part of tradition. Even today, Dhuska shops are decorated from villages to city squares.
In this context, Dhuska, available in Ravi’s stall near the bus stand of Chainpur block of Gumla district, has become very famous due to its unique taste, price and excellent quality. Its taste is so amazing that people wait and leave only after tasting it. Here the dust ends immediately as soon as the filter comes out and people stand in line and wait for their turn. This is the reason why more than 500 pieces of Dhuska are sold daily at this shop.
Ravi Kumar, the operator of this shop, told Local 18 that he has been running the hotel for almost 10 years. Before this I did not do anything, but after marriage, family responsibilities increased. After which the hotel was started. Everyone sells Dhuska, Samosa, Kachori, Jalebi, tea etc., but here Dhuska becomes the biggest seller. This is the reason why he laid more emphasis on making Dhuska.
According to Ravi, Dhuska is prepared in a special way at his place. For this, arva rice and urad dal are used in the right proportion. 200 grams of urad dal is mixed in 1 kg of Arwa rice and soaked in water for 2.5 to 3 hours. And its paste is made not by grinding it in a mixer but on a mortar and pestle. After this, add salt as per taste and mix well. After this, it is filtered in oil and served hot.
Ravi told that the Dhuska available here is served with pea chickpeas and traditional chutney made of gram, almonds, jaggery and tamarind. Due to which its taste becomes even more delicious. The Dhuska available here is not only delicious but also economical. Even with such inflation, only Rs 5 per piece is served to the customers. This is the reason why people not only eat it sitting on a cart, but also pack it and take it to their homes. People are liking the taste of Dhuska made here. More than 500 dhuskas are sold here every day. Their shop remains open from 6 am to 6 pm.
