Chicken was being sold for Rs 105 a kg
Jamil, who runs a chicken business in the name of Rachna Poultry in Ghazipur mandi, says that chicken is supplied from Ghazipur to some other areas including Delhi-NCR. Every day up to 5 lakh chickens are supplied from Ghazipur mandi alone. But now this number has started to decrease. Four days ago, chicken was being sold in Ghazipur market from Rs 90 to Rs 105 per kg. Chicken rates are determined by the weight of the chicken.
News of bird flu brought prices up to Rs 40 a kg But as soon as the news of bird flu came to the media, now the demand for chicken has reduced. On January 6, the chicken came to 80 rupees a kg. At the same time, on January 7, the rate of chicken has come down completely to 60 rupees per kg. And today, on January 8, a category of chicken is being sold at the rate of 40 rupees per kg. The other category is from 55 to 57 rupees per kg. The way the news of bird flu is also coming in the chickens, it seems that now the prices of chicken will fall further.
