A case of theft has come to light in France which has shocked everyone. The thieves stole snails worth about 90,000 Euros (about ₹82 lakh). These premium snails were to be sent to many famous and high-end restaurants in the country. After the incident, the entire year’s production of the victim farmer was lost in a single night. Snail farmer Jean-Mathieu Dauvergne said that thieves stole 450 kg of snail meat from his cold storage room. This much meat was enough to prepare approximately 10,000 plates of snail dish.

Duvernay described this theft as a big blow for him, because due to the theft his annual income was greatly affected. Duvernay said that the thieves carried out the crime in a very professional manner. He said, “The thieves first cut the fence, then broke the door with an axe, destroyed the motion sensor lighting system and entered the cold room and took away all the snail meat.”
