Giridih Cyber Crime: Ganesh Prasad Verma, resident of Giridih, has an account in Bank of India. Suddenly more than Rs 999 crore came into his account, but the bank manager, showing wisdom, froze the account due to cyber fraud.
Ejaz Ahmed/Giridih : Yaduradih is a village in Herodih police station area of Giridih district in Jharkhand. For Ganesh Prasad Verma, a village resident here, Friday was like a dream. Suddenly a credit of Rs 999 crore 99 lakh 97 thousand 401 appeared in his Bank of India account. When Ganesh, who leads a normal life, came to check his balance, he was shocked to see such a huge amount.
Immense happiness suddenly came in Ganesh’s life.
Ganesh Prasad Verma told Local 18 that he survives by doing small jobs in his everyday life. When the bank’s message came on his mobile and he checked his account, he couldn’t believe it after seeing such a huge amount. Because of this happiness, he immediately thought of withdrawing some money. Also made a plan to tell the family and reached the bank branch, but the scene there changed completely.
Bank manager freezes account
As soon as he reached the bank, Ganesh requested for withdrawal, but the branch manager flatly refused. The manager immediately checked the account and found that the amount was a case of cyber fraud. This transfer was done through some fraud from Mumbai. For security reasons, the bank froze Ganesh’s account with immediate effect. Now the entire amount in the account is showing in minus and it has become impossible to withdraw even a single rupee.
This cyber case has Mumbai connection
The manager of Bank of India said that this amount is part of a big cyber fraud. The banking system found this amount transferred from Mumbai suspicious and an automatic alert was issued. In such cases the bank immediately locks the account. So that the fraud amount cannot be misused. Police have also been informed and investigation is underway. The manager said that soon this amount will be transferred back to the original account.
Ganesh’s dream broken
Ganesh Prasad Verma is very disappointed now. He said that for a moment it seemed that life would change, but now everything became the same as before. He is requesting the bank and police to unfreeze his account soon. So that we can do normal transactions. At the same time, the police has started investigating this matter. Cyber cell has been informed. So that the fraudsters can be reached.
