The weather will take a turn in Uttarakhand today, there is a possibility of snowfall along with rain, there will be bone-chilling cold.

Rishikesh : On December 8, both cold and weather conditions may remain harsh in Uttarakhand. There is a possibility of light rain or snowfall with temperatures remaining below normal in many parts of the state. Especially the weather will feel more harsh due to snow falling in the high altitude districts and fog in the plains. Due to cold winds, increasing humidity and decreasing temperature, people may have to face chill throughout the day. According to the information received from the Meteorological Department, in the morning the temperature in the plains may remain between 4°C to 7°C, while in the hilly and high altitude areas the temperature is expected to fall below 0°C. During this period, visibility may be significantly reduced due to dense fog and frost. There will be some places where the roads will be slippery and driving will be more difficult.

Although there is a possibility of light sunshine in the afternoon, but it will not be very effective in reducing the cold. The maximum temperature in the plains can reach 15°C to 18°C, while in the hilly areas the mercury will remain limited to between 6°C to 10°C. Cloud movement will continue, and light rain or snowfall is also possible in some areas. Cold winds from Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir will continue to flow towards Uttarakhand, due to which the chill will remain constant.

The weather will become more harsh in the evening and night. In plain cities the night temperature can go between 5°C to 8°C, while in the hills it can fall to –1°C to 2°C. If it snows during the day, there will be more chances of frost forming on the roads by night. This situation can create challenges for transportation, tourists and local people. As the air cools, it will increase the humidity, due to which shivering will be felt more in the body.
