Truecaller has launched a new Voicemail feature for Android users in India. Free users will get basic voicemail facility, while premium users will also get the benefit of AI transcription and smart call answering in 12 Indian languages.
Truecaller is now bringing Voicemail feature for Android users in India. With the help of this new feature, if someone calls you and you are unable to pick up the call, he can leave a voice message for you. This feature will be available to all free users in India, while premium subscribers will get its more advanced AI assistant version.
This Voicemail feature of Truecaller is not limited to just listening. It also has the facility of AI-powered transcription, through which you can read voice messages in text. The special thing is that this transcription feature supports 12 Indian languages, which will make it easier for users of different languages.
For the Voicemail feature to work, the user has to turn on call forwarding on his mobile number. After this, whatever voice messages come will appear in a separate tab inside the Truecaller app. From here you can listen to the message or convert it into text and read it, so that there will be no need to call back again and again. The company has advised users to update the app to the latest version for this feature to work properly.
Security and privacy will be complete
Regarding privacy, Truecaller has assured that all Voicemail messages are stored directly in the user’s phone and are not sent to any server. The AI feature for different languages works with the help of downloaded language packs, keeping user data safe.
This new feature is quite smart
The premium Voicemail feature is even smarter. It can automatically receive your calls, talk to the other person and also respond as per your choice. At present, this feature has been launched first in India and after testing it will be launched in other countries also.
Meanwhile, Truecaller is facing tough competition from the Indian government’s CNAP system, which shows caller information without any app. In such a situation, the new Voicemail feature is being considered a big step for Truecaller to retain users.
