The sound of scratching was coming from the wall
According to the report of Mirror website, Meela Sofi, who is active on the social media platform TikTok, shared a video in which she told that at around 11 pm, a continuous scratching sound was coming from her heating shaft. At first they thought that a rat or some other rat-like creature might have entered the house. Frightened, Meela opened the door of the heating shaft, but what she saw inside surprised her – it was a hamster. Meela tells that as soon as she opened the door, the hamster froze there, as if it was surprised at being caught. Meela immediately took him out carefully, placed him in a bucket and fed him carrots and some vegetables. It was clear that the hamster was scared, but seemed familiar to humans – which suggests that it was someone’s pet.
Where did the hamster come from?
In her follow-up video, Meela told that she still does not know where the hamster came from. They suspect that he may have escaped from a flat in their apartment building and reached the heating shaft. She had been hearing the scratching sound for the past several days. According to her – “These sounds were coming from a few days ago. My cats also used to stare at the wall in distress. I was afraid of opening the shaft alone, so I used to wait for my fiance but as soon as he came, the sounds would disappear.” After the hamster was rescued safely, Meela and her fiance have put up a poster in the building, asking if anyone has lost their hamster. They also talked to the neighbors, but no one was aware of their pet’s disappearance. Till then this hamster is living in Meela’s house in her shower area, where she is getting a safe and warm place. After the video went viral, viewers asked Meela to take care of the hamster until its real owner is found. Many people also warned that they should keep their cats away from hamsters.
