On the occasion of the funeral of the Chief Secretary, Magufuli urged people to attend a three-day prayer to deal with unspecified ‘respiratory’ diseases. This statement was broadcast on the national broadcaster on Friday. Tanzania has not given any information about the cases of Kovid-19 in the country since April last year and the President has been consistently claiming that it has been defeated.

There are officially only 509 cases of Kovid-19 in Tanzania, but locals said that many people have complained of breathlessness and pneumonia patients have also increased in hospitals. Trados also requested Magufuli to take ‘strict action’.
