Lal Ajay Yadav of Purani Bathan village of Fatehpur block of Gaya district has once again done wonders. He has brought glory to Bihar and the country by winning the gold medal in the powerlifting competition held in Russia. Ajay Yadav has lifted 265 kg weight in 75 kg weight category in the International Power Lifting Championship held in Russia. For this he has received a gold medal.
Ajay Yadav is a soldier of the Indian Army. He completed his studies by driving a rickshaw and working as a laborer and then got a job in the army. He got employed in 2010. His success story is inspiring for every struggling youth. Earlier, Ajay Yadav had lifted 260 kg weight in 82 kg weight category in the All Asian Power Lifting Championship held in Vietnam a few months ago and for that he also got the gold medal.
As bright as the success of Ajay Yadav, resident of Purni Bathan village of Fatehpur block, about 50 kilometers from Gaya city, looks, the struggle behind it has been equally difficult. The financial condition of his house was very bad. Father used to drive a bullock cart and the family survived by that. The financial condition of the family was so bad that even the school fees could not be covered. After that he was enrolled in a government school but the situation at home was not such that any money could be spent on his education.

Ajay Yadav’s village Purani Bathan is adjacent to the border of Koderma district of Jharkhand. Adjacent to his village is ‘Jhumri Tilaiya’, a tourist place in Koderma district of Jharkhand. During his student days, Ajay used to go there on Sundays and drive rickshaw. He used to return home after earning Rs 100-150 a day. Then with the same money he used to support his father in his studies and household expenses for the whole week.
After passing matriculation, Ajay Yadav also worked as a labourer. Then, seeing the financial condition of his family, he prepared to join the army. He deposited money by driving a rickshaw and then filled the army vacancy form with the same money. He was selected in the Indian Army in 2010. After joining the army, the condition of his house started getting better but now the condition of his house is the same as before. The salary he earned while serving in the army was enough to support his family.
When he was posted in Assam camp in 2016, he joined the gym for his fitness. Where seeing his strength and courage, the gym trainer inspired him to play power lifting game. Started preparing for power lifting from the year 2016 and then won many medals in district level, state level and national level games. He has won gold medal in every competition.
