Dumariya Haat under Boarijore block of Godda district is considered to be the largest weekly cattle market in the district. This cattle market is held every week on Sunday, where a large number of cattle farmers and buyers come to buy and sell animals. The special identity of this market is that people from Jharkhand as well as Bihar and West Bengal bring their animals and buyers also come from far-flung areas.
Many varieties of animals can be seen in Dumariya Haat. Cows, buffaloes, bulls, goats and goats are brought for sale in large numbers in the market. Cows of indigenous breed, advanced and foreign breeds are also available here. Animal farmers say that there is an option for every category of buyer in this market. From farmers who buy animals on a small budget to people doing animal husbandry on a large scale, they also buy animals from here as per their needs.
A major feature of this market is that the price of animals here remains relatively low. Due to open market and mutual bargaining, buyers get animals at reasonable prices. This is the reason why the identity of Dumariya Haat is not limited only to Godda district, but this market is also very famous in the surrounding districts and states.
