this is history
The history of Sagra Ashram, about 10 kilometers away from Sultanpur city, is believed to be more than 500 years old. Dr. Swami Dayanand Muni, the Mahant of this ashram, tells that Baba Sahajaram arrived in Bandhua Kala in around 1600 AD. He came from Ayodhya via Lucknow. He built a small hut on Sagra and started living here. Just in front of this ashram, there is a big ocean in an area of about three acres.
The flag goes from here in Maha Kumbh
Dr. Swami Dayanand Mun tells that when Mahakumbh starts in Prayagraj, the flag hoisted first is from here. The flag is sent to Mahakumbh from this Sagara Ashram only. Only then does Mahakumbh begin. This trend is not from today but has been going on for many years.

According to the local people, a monk had reached this ashram riding on a lion and carrying a snake in his hand. At that time Baba Sahajaram was sitting on the wall and chewing his teeth. He ordered the wall to move. The wall had reached the monk. Impressed by this miracle, the sadhu stayed there and Baba gave him 85 bighas of garden, which came to be known as Jogiya Van. A fair is held here in Chaitra and Kartik. Buying and selling of wooden items takes place in this fair.
