The air of Faridabad-Gurugram is poisonous, while smog and dust make life difficult.

Faridabad: The air quality of Faridabad and Gurugram has again reached the danger mark. There was fog in the city since morning and breathing started feeling heavy. When you go outside, the taste of the air changes to a slight bitterness, the smell of dust, as if you are getting a warning in advance. Today the average air quality index of Faridabad was between 160 to 180. This falls in the category of moderate to bad, but in many places the situation has become much worse. The air has become so poisonous that now even common people are clearly feeling the effect on their lungs.

The air is poisonous in many places

The worst condition is of Provident Fund Enclave and Sector 17. Here AQI has reached 641 and 623 which is downright dangerous. The particles present in the air in these areas are a direct attack on health. The situation is very bad in all these places like Sector 15A, Sector 10 HBC, Sector 14 and Sector 82. The air here is as dirty as glass blackened by smoke. AQI was 535 in Faridabad Station 1 and 503 in Sector 16. People living in these areas are having trouble breathing, especially the elderly and children.

There is no hope of some relief in other places also. Natthu Colony, New Industrial Town, Sector 11, Sector 46, Sector 30, and Sector 77 here also AQI is between 350 to 471 i.e. very bad. It seems as if a blanket of smoke has spread across Faridabad. Doctors are also openly saying that taking a morning walk in such air, sleeping on the terrace or sending children outside is not free from danger.

The condition of Gurugram is no different

The condition of Gurugram is also no different. The average AQI here ranged from 180 to 330, ranging from poor to very poor. The most polluted area in the city is Ivory where AQI reached 671. The air here is directly attacking the lungs. The air is dangerous in all these places like Kendriya Vihar, Central Park II, Huda Colony and Block C2. Aravali Park’s AQI was 312 and in DLF Phase 1 and 2 also it was between 285 to 294. People in these areas are constantly complaining of eye irritation, cough and fatigue.

Circumstances will have to change on their own

Overall, the air of Faridabad and Gurugram has now become like poison for humans. Now the time has come that the government, pollution control department and common people should do something together. Otherwise the situation may become even more scary in the coming days. Wear a mask when you go out, use vehicles less, plant saplings at home. Even these small steps can make a difference. After all, air is our need and it is our responsibility to save it.
