Mumbai Attack: Attacks started at many places in Mumbai at around 8 pm on 26 November 2008. This attack continued for 60 hours and ended on 29 November. Pakistani terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba had carried out this attack, for which 10 terrorists had entered Mumbai via sea.
Mumbai. Seventeen years after the brutal terrorist attacks in Mumbai, Maharashtra in 2008, the scars of that terrorist attack on the city may have become lighter now. But for the people who survived that attack, those memories are still equally horrifying. Devika Rotawan, who survived that terrorist attack, is one of the youngest women to face the terror of that dark night. At that time he was only nine years old.
She was injured by the bullets of terrorists in the firing at the crowded Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. She was shot in the leg. That one accident changed his life. Devika Rotawan, a witness to the terrorist attack, said in an exclusive conversation with StuffUnknown, “Seventeen years have passed, but that night remains the same for us. I still don’t feel that 17 years have passed, I live every moment, every second, I still have that scar on my leg. That pain is in the same way.”
‘I became unconscious after being shot’
Devika later became a key witness in the case of this attack and she had identified Ajmal Kasab among the terrorists who attacked. However, he believes that justice for that terrorist attack will be done only when the mastermind who carried out it is held accountable. Devika Rotawan said, “I had seen in the film that if the hero gets shot, he gets well the next day, but in real life there was nothing like this. After being shot, I became unconscious, from there I was taken to St. George Hospital.”
‘Complete justice will be achieved by eliminating the mastermind sitting in Pakistan’
She further said, “I saw a lot of patients in St. George. The doctors were able to make some unconscious, some were not able to. I was operated there. From there I was shifted to JJ Hospital. I was admitted in JJ Hospital for about one and a half month, there six operations were done on my leg. A bullet was removed from my leg. I am happy with the government’s action. It took a lot of time to hang Kasab, it took a lot of time and now the operation has been done vermilion. I am very happy with this but When the mastermind who is still sitting in Pakistan ends, it will feel that complete justice has been given.”
More than 150 people were killed in the Mumbai terrorist attack.
In that horrific terrorist attack that took place in the year 2008, the terrorists kept the entire Mumbai in terror from 26 to 29 November. This attack was one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in the country, in which more than 150 people lost their lives. The dead included civilians, security personnel and foreign nationals. Ajmal Amir Kasab, the only terrorist captured alive among the 10 terrorists, was hanged in Pune’s Yerwada Jail in 2012.
