Along with molesting Swati Maliwal, chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, there has been an incident of dragging her from a car. Giving information about the incident that happened at night on the road of Delhi, Swati said, ‘Late last night I was taking stock of the situation of women’s security in Delhi. That’s why a car driver molested me in a drunken state and when I caught him, he dragged me by locking my hand in the mirror of the car. God saved life. If the chairperson of the Women’s Commission is not safe in Delhi, then imagine the situation.
Swati Maliwal told that during the inspection on the night of January 18, she was dragged for 10-15 meters by a car thief. In the backdrop of the heinous murder of a 20-year-old girl, Swati Maliwal had decided to inspect the security situation for women at night. I saw the situation of dark spots and police deployment at various places. Stopped at several bus stops in the night to see the security situation, during which the accident happened.

Swati told that during the inspection, as soon as she was standing at a bus stop on Ring Road in front of AIIMS Hospital, a car came near her. The driver opened the car window and asked her to sit in the car but Swati Maliwal refused. The man kept staring at her for some time and went away but after some time came again to her. He again asked them to sit in his car but they again refused. The car driver started making obscene gestures towards them. When she went near him to scold him, he again made obscene gestures towards her. When they tried to catch him, he closed the window glass which trapped Swati Maliwal’s hand. After this, he increased the speed of the vehicle while dragging them along with the car for several metres. Although she somehow managed to escape.
