Shashi Bhushan Yadav, who lives near Radha-Krishna Temple in Jamun Ghat of Raniganj block, has been selling straw for the last 15 years. He told that initially he used to run a Customer Service Center (CSC), but with time he also started selling chaff. Gradually this became his main business and today he earns a good amount of income from it.
People buy in large numbers due to better quality
As soon as you reach near Jamun Ghat, good quality fodder for cows, buffaloes and bulls is easily available. Shashi Bhushan says that the chaff available at his place comes not only from Muzaffarpur in Bihar but also from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Due to better quality, people from nearby villages come here in large numbers to buy fodder.

According to Shashi Bhushan Yadav, 10-15 quintals of chaff is sold at his place every day. From this they earn Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 per day. At the same time, especially during the farming and harvesting season, their income increases manifold and the profit is up to lakhs of rupees.
