New Delhi: We all know that the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput started his acting journey with the TV industry and then stepped into Bollywood. But few people know that after delivering several hits like ‘Kai Po Che’ and ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, Sushant returned to television for a special episode of ‘CID’. In 2015, Sushant played a detective in a special episode of the hit TV show.
According to media reports, Sushant appeared in his role in ‘CID’ with the film’s co-actor Anand Tiwari, just before the release of his film ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshi’. He helped ACP Pradyuman, Daya and Abhijeet solve the murders in Mumbai and Kolkata in the show.
Sushant, playing Byomkesh Bakshi, tries to solve a murder mystery in Kolkata that turns out to be a case of poisoning. On reaching Mumbai, they learn that a CID team is investigating a murder, which may be linked to a murder in Kolkata. Then Sushant and Anand join hands with the team of CID and catch the criminals. The film ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshi’, directed by Dibakar Banerjee, was critically acclaimed. Sushant was highly appreciated for his performance in this mystery thriller. According to media reports, there was talk of a sequel to this film in July 2016, but after the death of SSR in 2020, this plan had to be postponed. Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film released on theaters was ‘Chhichhore’ with Shraddha Kapoor. After the death of the actor, his film ‘Dil Bechara’ was released on OTT, from which actress Sanjana Sanghi made her debut.
