The court was hearing a writ petition filed by the Divyang Rights Group. The constituted committee will get all the guidelines required for the admission of differently-abled students in universities across the country to be implemented. Advocate Manoj Ranjan Sinha, appearing for the UGC, said that in view of the present situation, it will take eight weeks to prepare the guidelines. The court has adjourned the matter till March. In the year 2017, the top court had said that for “Guidelines for Ease of Disabled Students in Universities/Colleges”, the UGC should constitute a committee. This body will work to implement the needs and schemes of disabled students.
