Chief Minister Pension Scheme: Chief Minister Pension Scheme of Chhattisgarh Government is becoming a big support for the needy. The specialty of the scheme is that the socio-economic census of 2011 has been made the basis of it. Under this, a pension of Rs 500 is given every month to senior citizens, widows and divorced women. After making the application through Gram Panchayat, the amount is received directly into the bank account.
Chief Minister Pension Scheme: Chief Minister Pension Scheme run by the Government of Chhattisgarh has emerged as an important social security scheme for the needy sections of the state. While giving information about the scheme, Deputy Director of Social Welfare Department, Ajay Gedam said that the biggest feature of this pension scheme is that the socio-economic census of 2011 has been made the basis of it, whereas in most of the other pension schemes of the state, only the list of 2002 is still accepted. For this reason, about 50 percent additional eligible beneficiaries who were not able to avail the benefits of other schemes are being included in the scope of the Chief Minister Pension Scheme.
Deputy Director Ajay Gedam said that under this scheme, a pension amount of Rs 500 per month is given to the eligible beneficiaries. The benefits of the scheme are being given mainly to senior citizens, widows and divorced women. He said that thousands and lakhs of needy people are being benefited under this scheme in different districts of the state, which is helping in meeting the needs of their daily life.
What is mandatory for old age pension?
Giving information about the eligibility conditions of the scheme, he said that for old age pension, it is mandatory for the applicant to be 60 years of age or more. Whereas for widows and divorced women the minimum age limit has been set at more than 18 years. Eligible beneficiaries can apply for this scheme through their Gram Panchayat.
What is the application process?
Describing the application process as simple, the Deputy Director said that first of all the application is submitted to the Gram Panchayat. From there the proposal is passed and sent to the District Panchayat. After investigation and approval at the district level, the application is sent to the Social Welfare Department. After all the formalities are completed, a pension amount of Rs 500 is deposited directly into the bank account of the beneficiary every month by the Social Welfare Department.
Giving information about the documents required for the scheme, Ajay Gedam said that the applicant has to compulsorily submit Aadhar card and bank passbook. Along with this, relevant certificates are required for widows and divorced women, while for senior citizens, Aadhaar card or other valid documents are required as proof of age.
