Material
-Paay – 4 to 6 (well cleaned)
-Water – 6 to 8 cups
-Onion – 1 medium, finely chopped
-Ginger-garlic paste – 2 teaspoons
-Whole spices – bay leaves 2, big cardamom 1, cinnamon 1 inch, cloves 4-5, black pepper 8-10
-Turmeric powder – half teaspoon
-Coriander powder – 1 teaspoon
-Salt – as per taste
-Black pepper powder – half teaspoon
-Oil or ghee – 2-3 spoons
-Garnish – green coriander, lemon juice
Method
1. First of all wash the paa thoroughly.
2. Heat oil or ghee in the cooker and fry the chopped onion until it turns golden.
3. Now add ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw smell goes away.
4. Add turmeric and coriander powder and mix.
5. Now add whole spices and fry for 2 minutes so that the spices get coated well.
6. Add salt and water and close the cooker.
7. Let it whistle for one whistle on high flame, then reduce the flame and let it cook for 35-40 minutes.
8. When the pressure is released, open the lid and pour the soup into the bowl.
9. Add black pepper, green coriander and some lemon juice on top and serve hot.
