Wild Berries Benefits: As soon as the winter season starts, seasonal fruits arrive in the market, and among these, the sweet and sour wild plum is attracting the most people. As soon as it comes in the markets, this fruit is attracting the attention of everyone from children to the elderly. This berry, found in the forests of rural areas, comes in the market for only a few days. This is the reason why both its price and popularity increase rapidly.
Specialist doctor Dr. R.P. Paroha explains that plum can be eaten not only fresh but also dried. Vitamin C, antioxidants and fiber are found in abundance in it, which gives warmth to the body in cold and strengthens the immunity. According to Dr. Paroha, eating ripe plum is beneficial, whereas raw plum should be taken in limited quantity only, because excess Vitamin C can cause cold and cough.
He told that after ripening, Vitamin C gets reduced in plum and small amount of sugar comes in it, due to which it does not cause any harm. Eating about 25-30 plums a day is considered a reasonable amount. Plum is dried and used as a spice in mango powder, chutney and many dishes. Along with taste, plum chutney works to increase appetite. Interestingly, plum is considered a bit heavy for digestion, but in case of bloody dysentery, white dysentery or twisted dysentery, consumption of mango powder with sugar provides relief.
