The operator here, Nagesh Yadav, whom people fondly know as ‘Mama’, says that as soon as the cold sets in, mini samosas and moong dal ka pyagi bada have become the identity of his shop. Every evening, as soon as the shop opens, long queues of people form and the demand for hot breakfast doubles.
According to Nagesh Mama, the mini samosa here has its own special identity in entire Raipur. A plate of four small samosas is available for just Rs 10, which people find very economical even in times of inflation. Similarly, Pyagi Bada of Moong Dal is also served four pieces for Rs 10. Along with these two items, three special chutneys, curd chutney, chilli chutney and tomato chutney, double the taste of breakfast. Along with this, fried green chillies make the whole plate even more attractive.
How is the quality and cost of breakfast?
Regarding the quality and cost of breakfast, Nagesh Mama says that we buy all the essential items like potato, onion, gram flour, flour in bulk. This reduces the cost significantly and we provide people with a hearty and tasty breakfast for just Rs 10. He says that in the cold season the demand for breakfast suddenly increases, in such a situation both work and sales increase manifold. He told that 8 to 10 thousand pieces of mini samosas and 5 to 7 thousand pieces of big pyagi are sold every day, which is a clear indication of the popularity of the shop.
When does the shop open?
This breakfast center, which is open from 4 pm to 10 pm, is visited in large numbers by not only local people but also students from places like Raigarh, Balodabazar and Mahasamund. Many students say that it is difficult to find such cheap and tasty quality breakfast anywhere else in the city. On cold days, the crowd of people coming to taste the hot breakfast adds to the charm of the shop.
In times of inflation, this breakfast, which is light on the pocket and rich in taste, is like a relief for the people. Nagesh Mama says that as the cold increases, our demand also increases. People start lining up from the evening itself to eat hot breakfast. This is the reason that in winter their income almost doubles compared to before and their breakfast center fills the evenings of Raipur with taste.
