Delhi RPF News: The story of New Delhi Railway Station is heart touching. This story is related to two women. This story is from Wednesday. People were getting on and off their vehicles. Were preparing to go towards their destination. Amidst this, a pregnant woman got down from a train coming from Chhapra, Bihar and sat on the bench of the platform. Her husband went towards the shop to get tea and snacks. Suddenly the woman felt severe pain, her water broke and she screamed loudly. The husband got scared, but immediately RPF jawans and nearby passengers ran to help. RPF lady constable Amit Kumari showed courage and successfully delivered the woman on the spot. A healthy baby was born and both mother and son are safe. This story is in the words of the same female constable Amit Kumari.
I was going to the police booth in Paharganj in the morning. I was working as a lady constable. On Wednesday, he was going for duty as per his routine, when he got a call from his SHO. I was asked to go to New Delhi Railway Station, where there was a report of a woman having severe stomach pain. When I reached the spot, I found myself in a situation that I had never seen before. A pregnant woman was suffering from labor pain. Investigation revealed that the woman was going to Delhi with her husband from Chapra in Bihar. He is a laborer in Ballabhgarh, Haryana. He had come to Delhi for medical help.
Call came immediately on PCR
Actually, her husband had gone to the railway station to collect the necessary items including the necessary documents for admission to the hospital. Then the women present at the station saw him upset and got scared and called PCR. Came forward to help at the station. After collecting the female passenger and female RPF (Railway Protection Force) personnel, she took the woman to a waiting hall near Gate No. 2. It soon became clear that there was no time to wait for an ambulance. The group of women decided that they would have to deliver the child themselves.
Kumari had no experience
Kumari further told that the woman was alone at that time. Although she was terrified, the group knew they had no choice but to help her. He said, ‘We knew that in the past, deliveries were often done this way, so we took the task upon ourselves with the help of some older female passengers who knew what to do.’ He further said that the woman in labor was scared and in pain, but the women around her consoled her, asking her to have courage and remain calm.
Both mother and child are healthy
After the help of so many people, the delivery was done safely. There was a different kind of happiness on everyone’s face. The woman gave birth to a healthy child. DCP (Central) Nidhin Valsan said, ‘The police team then took the mother, her newborn child and the woman’s husband to Lady Hardinge Hospital.’ Her husband later thanked the constable for his help and said that both his wife and child were fine.
