The dispute between a husband and wife living in Ahmedabad, Gujarat over eating onion and garlic increased so much that they got divorced. Whereas their marriage took place in the year 2002. Justices Sangeeta Vishen and Neesha Thakor gave their verdict on this case which reached Gujarat High Court via Family Court.
Husband-wife Dispute on Onion-Garlic: A very strange case has come to light from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Here, there was such a fierce fight between a husband and wife over eating onion and garlic that the matter reached the point of divorce. The husband filed a divorce petition against the wife’s restrictions, although the wife appealed against the husband’s petition to end the marriage, but after a lawsuit that lasted for about 12 years, the marriage of the husband and wife finally ended.
Seeing the onion-garlic issue increasing, the wife went to her parents’ home with her child. After which, in the year 2013, the husband filed a divorce petition in the Family Court of Ahmedabad. The husband accused the wife of cruelty and leaving the house. After a trial that lasted for about 11 years, the Family Court, while deciding on the husband’s petition on May 8, 2024, ended the marriage and ordered the husband to pay maintenance to his wife and child.
