SitamarhiThe government health system of Begusarai often remains under question, The situation is such that people turn to private hospitals even in case of minor fever, But amidst this system, a name has emerged which has started turning people’s trust towards government hospitals again,
Local people even say that patients in their OPD, even from private hospitals, come here for free treatment and pray for them after their recovery. Talking about his identity, he is dental specialist surgeon Dr. Mumtaz Ali. In whose OPD there is a long queue of patients every day. The special thing is that among them there are poor people and the trust of capable people is also being rested on only one name.
Frustrated with private hospitals, government hospital became resort
Mohammad Kazim, a dental patient, says that he and his wife had earlier gone to a private clinic, where neither there was any relief nor the disease was cured. But after coming to the OPD of Dr. Mumtaz Ali in the government hospital, the treatment was completely cured. He says, “The system is good, the doctors look at us with satisfaction, no money is required. That’s why today we have brought our villagers here also.”
Chandan Kumar also says that people are now leaving private doctors and coming directly to Dr. Mumtaz Ali’s OPD. Kiran Devi’s experience was also similar, local treatment did not work, but after coming here the problem was completely cured. She tells that she also got her grandmother’s dental treatment done here.
Government gave opportunity to serve
Dr. Mumtaz Ali says that his OPD is held at Community Health Center Cheriya Bariyarpur on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. According to him, “Pyorrhea, gum problem, laser treatment or normal dental treatment – we provide the treatment as per the need of the patient. The government has given us the opportunity to serve the people and also a good salary. Therefore, it is our duty to render the service in the best possible manner and bring glory to the government system.”
A positive message for Begusarai
While there has been criticism on the health system, doctors like Dr. Mumtaz Ali are an example of the fact that if the intentions and responsibility are right, then government hospitals can also become the first choice of the people. The biggest thing in this good news of Begusarai is that a doctor has not only won the trust of the patients but has also awakened hope towards the government health system.
Since the establishment of Rati Centre, registration of patients has been continuous. Medical Officer Dr. Mohd. Haseen Akhtar said that every day about 300 patients are reaching the hospital and taking life-saving medicines. According to Nodal Officer Dr. Z. Javed, around 500 new patients are being registered every year since 2022, which shows the speed of infection.

Under the Parvarish Scheme, Rs 1000 per month is being provided to the beneficiaries below 18 years of age. Health department officials say that timely check-up, regular medication and counseling are the biggest basis of a healthy life. The ART center not only provides medicines to the patients but also provides mental and social support.
