Shakib started his education from Seventh Day Public School and completed his intermediate studies from there. During engineering, Shakib did not consider himself a particularly intelligent student. His CGPA in the first year was 5.9, while the second and third years were somehow completed due to the Corona epidemic. He started preparing for UPSC from the fourth year itself. Because of this his attendance in college classes remained zero. Because of this, he also failed in a subject. However, he believed that one should put all one’s energy towards the goal one is focused on.

Sharing his preparation experience, Shakib says that he studied for an average of 10 hours a day, although this study was not continuous. Used to take breaks in between also. He used to revise from detailed notes instead of short notes, because he understood them better.
According to Shakib, in a year, from prelims to interviews, he revised his entire syllabus about 8 to 10 times. By the third attempt almost every topic was completely clear. He believes that the more revision there is, the more benefit one will get. Along with this, he also described the Test series as very important.
Initially the marks in the test series were low, but with continuous practice the scores gradually improved. After engineering, his family also watched his hard work closely because he did all his preparation while staying at home. Shakib’s message is clear that if you want to go to civil services after engineering, then do not waste time in GATE or other options, start preparing for UPSC with full focus and a clear goal.
