Hemant Mishra is originally a resident of Kusurupa village under Rajpur block of Buxar. His father, Om Prakash Mishra, works as Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) in Kaimur, Bihar. This is a judicial post. His mother is a teacher. Hemant’s younger brother has done B.Tech from IIT and is currently working as a software engineer in America. This environment of education and government service in the family helped Hemant to set high goals from the very beginning.
How educated is IAS Hemant Mishra?
Hemant Mishra’s academic journey laid a strong foundation for his success. He completed his studies till 12th from the prestigious DAV School of Patna. He moved to Delhi for higher education and graduated from Jamia Millia Islamia. Hemant Mishra completed his PG studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Even before becoming an IAS officer, Hemant Mishra achieved many successes in government services, which shows his determination.
DSP (2022): In the year 2022, he passed the UPPSC (Uttar Pradesh Police Service) examination and was selected as DSP.
SDM (2023): After this, in 2023, he once again passed the UPPCS exam and was selected as SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate). He also worked as Additional SDM in Mirzapur district.
IAS (2024): Finally, in 2024, he achieved his goal of becoming an IAS officer by securing 13th rank in the UPSC exam.

After completion of IAS training in LBSNAA, Hemant Mishra has been allotted Uttar Pradesh (UP) cadre. It can be guessed from his rank that he must have kept Uttar Pradesh on priority. After Hemant Mishra becoming an IAS officer, there is a lot of happiness in his native village Kusurupa in Bihar.
