Stock Market Today: The last trading session of the week in the Indian stock market on Friday, December 5, started with a negative start. Major benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 opened trading in the red. However, they started trading in the green in the initial trade itself.
The 30-share BSE Sensex index fell 139.84 points or 0.16 percent to 85,125.48, while the NSE Nifty 50 opened at 25,999.80, slipping 33.95 points or 0.13 percent.
By around 9:35 am, the Sensex was trading 60 points higher at 85,325 points, while the Nifty 50 was trading 10 points higher at 26,044.

How was the market on Thursday?
On Thursday, December 4, there was a rise in the Indian stock market and both the major benchmark indices closed trading in the green. Sensex ended the trading day at 85,265.32 points with a rise of 158.51 points or 0.19 percent, while NSE Nifty 50 ended the trading day at the level of 26,033.75 with a rise of 47.75 points or 0.18 percent.
TCS, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, Bajaj Finance and Bharti Airtel were the top gainers from the BSE basket. Talking about the top losers, Eternal, Maruti, Kotak Bank, Titan and ICICI Bank were. A rise was recorded in the shares of Nifty IT, Nifty Auto, Nifty FMCG and Nifty 100.
Shares of Midcap 100, Nifty Smallcap 100 and Nifty Bank closed trading in the red. On Thursday’s trading day, 18 shares from BSE basket closed on the green mark and 12 shares recorded a decline.
