Business Idea: Sonu Dewangan’s Chole-Bhatura breakfast center, which is established every morning at Bhanwarpur Chowk in Mahasamund district of Chhattisgarh, has today become the identity of the area. This journey, which started five years ago during the difficult times of lockdown, was not easy, but with courage, hard work and his taste, Sonu has given this small business a big recognition. Sonu, who studied till 12th class, earlier used to work in his ancestral business of making Kosa sarees. In his free time, he used to watch videos of making Chole-Bhatura on YouTube and keep learning it. During this time, the idea of opening his own breakfast center came to his mind, but due to financial condition, it was challenging to start.
Not many customers in the initial days
After much deliberation, Sonu took the risk and borrowed only Rs 3500 from one of his friends and bought a simple cart and started selling Chole-Bhatura. In the initial days, there were neither many customers nor much income, but Sonu did not lose courage. He paid special attention to taste, cleanliness and service, the results of which gradually became visible. Gradually people started liking their Chole-Bhatura and within no time this cart started making its special identity in the whole of Bhanwarpur.
Today the situation is that Sonu runs his cart every day from 7 am to 2 pm and there is a demand for more than 100 plates of his Chole-Bhatura every day. Two hot bhaturas, spicy chickpeas, special chutney, onion and fried chillies available at Rs 30 per plate have become the first choice of their customers. Not only this, people also like the Idli plate worth Rs 20 in their centre. Due to taste and quality, Sonu is now receiving huge orders in weddings and parties also.
This success story of Sonu Dewangan is not just a business story, but a living example of hard work, passion and positive thinking. Despite limited resources at the time of lockdown, his small step, which started with courage, has today transformed into a big identity. People of Bhanwarpur believe that Sonu’s Chole-Bhatura not only serves taste but also tells the story of his hard work.
