To make saag special in every house, people adopt their own methods. At some places garlic seasoning is added and at other places the local flavor of mustard oil is added. But people are really liking the saag made by mixing almonds or roasted peanuts with spinach. This greens is not only delicious in taste, but is also full of nutrition.
How is this special saag made?
To make this saag, first of all spinach is boiled with coriander in hot water for two minutes, so that its rawness goes away. After this, boiled spinach and coriander are ground in a mixer along with a clove of garlic, green chillies and roasted peanuts. On the other hand, mustard oil is heated in the pan and seasoning of cumin and asafoetida is added to it. Then add chopped onion and fry it until it turns golden.
After this, turmeric and chilli powder is added and the prepared paste is put in the pan. Add salt as per taste and cover it and cook for 8 to 10 minutes. Finally, saag is prepared by adding garam masala and one spoon lemon juice. If you want, you can also take almonds instead of roasted peanuts.
