Patna: These days, the harsh cold continues throughout Bihar including the capital Patna. There is dense fog in the morning, while cold day conditions persist throughout the day. Due to this, people’s problems have increased. It has become difficult to get out of the house. Sunshine has been missing for the last four days. The maximum temperature of the day remains continuously below 15 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the minimum temperature at night has fallen to 8 degrees Celsius.
To protect themselves from the cold, people are resorting to bonfires from morning till late night. Life is being completely affected. Visibility has reduced significantly due to dense fog. It is also affecting rail and air traffic. Many trains and flights are running late.
The Meteorological Center (IMD) has issued a warning saying that there is a possibility of some reduction in fog from December 23, although cold day conditions may persist further. According to IMD, people will have to face severe cold till the last days of December. At the same time, the school in Sitamarhi will remain closed from today till 25th December.
Today there is fog in these districts
In the morning, dense fog is seen in West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran Bhojpur, Buxar, Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Arwal and Gaya. Yellow alert issued.
As the day progresses, cold days are predicted in Arwal, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Nawada and Gaya. Orange alert has been issued. The effect of severe cold will continue in many districts including Patna and Muzaffarpur.

These days, one has to face severe cold both day and night. The day temperature remains below 15 degrees Celsius while the night temperature has also dropped significantly. Sunday was the coldest day in Motihari where the maximum temperature was recorded at 15°C. Apart from this, 15.4°C was recorded in Muzaffarpur, 15.9°C in Ziradei, 15.5°C in Buxar, 16°C in Pusa, 16.8°C in Patna.

A huge drop in night temperature was also seen. Compared to Saturday, the night temperature dropped by 6°C on Sunday. The coldest night was 8°C, falling by 4.5°C in Gaya Ji. 8.7°C was recorded in Nalanda, 9.4°C in Jehanabad, 9.6°C in Arwal. A sharp decline was seen in all the districts surrounding these districts.
How long can we expect relief?
According to the forecast issued by IMD, a western disturbance is developing in the Himalayan region from December 25. Its effect will also be seen in the weather of the entire state including Patna. Due to which the temperature may fall further and there is a possibility of increase in cold. There is no relief coming at the moment.
