New Delhi. So far 7.5 crore passengers have traveled in the country’s most favorite train. This huge figure has been touched for almost seven years. Every year more than one crore people have enjoyed this type of journey. Because the train started in February 2019. For the first time, people traveled for free in Vande Bharat. All the passengers were given souvenir tickets. In this way, the people traveling in the train did not have to pay any kind of fare.
At present, 164 Vande Bharat train services are running in the country, which connect major cities. These trains provide fast, safe and comfortable travel. Built under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, these trains have modern facilities like automatic plug doors, revolving seats, bio-vacuum toilets, GPS based passenger information system and complete CCTV coverage.
How did I get a free ticket in the first Vande Bharat?
The country’s first Vande Bharat ran from New Delhi to Varanasi in February 2019. People had traveled in this train on souvenir tickets. That means no fare of any kind had to be paid. The then Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha had traveled in it. The first train was of 16 coaches, in which more than 1100 people traveled. The first Vande Bharat Express was a 16-coach train carrying a total of 1128 passengers, which included 14 chair car coaches (78 seats in each coach) and 2 executive class coaches (52 seats in each).
How many districts does it connect?
Vande Bharat Express connects 274 districts of the country. The Delhi-Varanasi route connects the capital to the spiritual capital of the country, which is convenient for pilgrims and tourists. Srinagar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Route promotes religious tourism. The Bengaluru-Hyderabad service remains a favorite of IT professionals and business travellers, connecting the two major tech hubs.
When will sleeper Vande Bharat arrive?
Along with Vande Bharat Express, Amrit Bharat and Namo Bharat trains of the same category are also becoming popular. These trains are running from many cities. Apart from this, sleeper Vande Bharat is going to arrive soon. This train will run between long distance cities. People are waiting for this train. There is a possibility that this train will be on track by January next year.
