Sanjay Kumar Gupta who is originally from Patna. For the last six years, he has been running his business named Manpasand Achar in Patel Maidan of Saharsa. Initially, he was an employee in a pickle factory, where he learned the intricacies of making pickles. After the experience he started his own small business. Had to face criticism many times while selling pickles on his cart. Still he did not give up.

Once, after seeing a woman’s pickle stall in a fair, she got inspired and with her hard work, she started the race of setting up stalls in fairs. Soon his hard work bore fruit and people started liking his products. Sanjay says that his wife also supported him fully in this journey. Government schemes gave new impetus to Sanjay’s business. Under two major schemes of the Industries Department, he got a loan of about Rs 1 lakh 80 thousand. Which helped in increasing retail production. Now the demand for their pickles has gradually reached from Khadi Mall to big commercial malls. Specialties of favorite pickles include pickles made according to many delicious and traditional recipes like red chilli pickle, mango kucha, bitter gourd and cranberry. The taste of these pickles is becoming popular not only in the local market but also in the surrounding districts.
