Shamli Police Encounter: The police team of Thana Bhavan and Police station Babri of Shamli district killed history-sheeter Samaydeen alias Sama, carrying a reward of Rs 50,000, in an encounter. Many serious cases were registered against the criminal and he was absconding for a long time.
Superintendent of Police Shamli NP Singh Singh told the media that on the information of the informer, the police had laid siege near the police station area. At around 4:30 in the morning, when the police team signaled Sama to stop, he started firing indiscriminately. In retaliation, Sama was shot and he died on the spot. An ASO was also shot during the encounter, who is undergoing treatment. Police have recovered a huge quantity of weapons and live cartridges from the spot. One 9 mm pistol, one .32 bore pistol, one 315 bore pistol and dozens of live cartridges of different bores were recovered by the police from the spot.
More than 18 cases were registered
SP said that Samaydeen alias Sama was wanted in many serious crimes in Shamli, Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar districts. A total of more than 18 cases including murder, attempt to murder, robbery, dacoity, possession of illegal weapons are registered against him in various police stations. He used to run a gang and had absconded after committing many crimes.
After continuous police raids and announcement of reward money, he became active and was planning a crime again. SP N P Singh praised both the police teams and said that the campaign against criminals in the district will be further intensified. As soon as information about the encounter was received, heavy police force reached the spot. The body has been sent for post-mortem. There is a wave of relief in the area after the incident, because people were troubled by the terror of Sama for a long time.
