It is beneficial to plant it in the south direction on the balcony, courtyard or terrace of the house. If Shami plant is planted outside the house, then it should be planted on the right side while leaving the house.

Shami plant should not be near Tulsi and it is important to take special care of cleanliness around it.
According to religious belief, people who are under the influence of Shani Sade Sati should regularly light a mustard oil lamp near the Shani plant. By doing this one gets relief from the adverse condition of Shani Dev.
