Stephen Robinson, St Mirren coach: “Of course there will be a nervous energy. We are not the Celtic that gets to every cup final or every cup final.
“So we have to embrace the day and enjoy it, but above all what I coin is have faith over fear. Really believe in the system, in each other, in the staff and in the things that we have put in place.
“We see all the pictures of the teams that have been very, very successful here and have won trophies and are highly regarded. What I try to do is tell the players, ‘We want your names on there, we want your pictures on there.’
“They have their photographs up for the European achievements, for the first six achievements, now we want them up [for winning the cup]. “We want them to be remembered, we want them to be recognized wherever they go for the rest of their lives.”
St Mirren defender Marcus Fraser: “In 10 or 20 years, people will probably still be talking about it.” [a win] And obviously you can write your own chapter in the club’s history.
“So I think that’s one of the key things we want to do, is really grab the opportunity with both hands and if we can get up on that wall, in a few years when you go over it, it will be a great feeling.”
Celta coach, Wilfried Nancy: “Yes, I would like to win the trophy. I’m pretty sure that if we don’t win it, it will be difficult, because when we lose, it’s painful.”
“But again, I’m an optimist as a person. So I hope we do it. And also if it’s going to validate what we’re doing. But if not, I don’t want to think about it because, for the moment, I want to stay positive and this is my way of thinking.”
“I’m going to have many, many more moments to show up, do my thing and convince the fans that I’m the right guy.”
Celtic midfielder Luke McCowan: “We are disappointed as a team with the last two results and we have to get over it.
“We have to [stick by Nancy]there is no way to avoid it. He is the coach, he has his staff with him, we are players of this club. He is the one who will lead us to victory with any style and with the management he wants.
“Once it clicks, we hope to think that will push us to get the performances we need and, most importantly, win games.”
