SBI YONO 2.0: In the world of mobile banking, the country’s largest government bank State Bank of India (SBI) has now given a big update. The YONO app, through which crores of people check balance, pay bills and transfer money every day, is now back in a completely new avatar. Actually, SBI has launched its new and upgraded YONO 2.0 app. Many new features have been added to it.
Currently there are about 9.4 crore users on YONO. The bank wants to double it to 20 crore users in the next 2 years. Bank Chairman CS Shetty said that YONO 2.0 is not just an app, but the entire digital system of the bank.
What has changed in internet banking?
SBI has rewritten its entire internet banking coding, which will now be called YONO Net Banking. Along with this, the mobile app has also been introduced with a completely new look and easy navigation, so that customers can get a better experience.
What is the special thing about YONO 2.0?
The special thing about YONO 2.0 is that if a customer leaves any task incomplete on mobile or internet banking, then he can go to the bank branch and complete the same process without any problem. For this, SBI is increasing the digital support network in its branches. By March, 10,000 floor managers will be deployed across the country, who will help customers in digital services.
Will the app work in weak network?
YONO 2.0 has been designed in such a way that it works smoothly in all types of mobile phones and network conditions. The app consumes less memory and performs better even in slow internet or weak networks.
How YONO 2.0 will compete with third-party UPI apps
SBI has completely redesigned the UPI and payment system in YONO 2.0. The bank says that payments is the feature which customers demanded to improve the most. The new app will now directly compete with third-party UPI apps.
What is Phygital Model?
SBI is adopting a digital-first strategy, but branch service will not be reduced. The bank says that it will run digital and physical services together, so that every category of customer can get convenience.
How safe is YONO 2.0?
Security-by-design model has been adopted in YONO 2.0. Customers can set their own transaction limits and usage settings. Additionally, 60–70% of transactions are monitored in real time.
When will the new app reach all users?
YONO 2.0 is being launched in a phased manner as an app upgrade. In the next two weeks, most Android users will shift to the new app. About 3.5 crore internet banking users of the bank have already migrated to the new YONO Net Banking.
When was YONO started
YONO, launched in the year 2017, is today handling most of the digital work of SBI. The bank has also clarified that work on YONO 3.0 has started.
