While giving information to its customers, SBI has said that many digital services of the bank will remain closed for some time on the night of 16 November 2025. The bank has taken this step for necessary system maintenance.
New Delhi. If you are a customer of State Bank of India (SBI), the country’s largest government bank, and do transactions through UPI, IMPS, YONO app, Internet Banking, NEFT and RTGS, then this news is important for you. The bank has informed on its official X account that many digital services will remain temporarily closed on the night of 16 November. SBI has expressed regret to the customers for the inconvenience.
SBI has taken this step for necessary system maintenance. According to the bank, major services like UPI, IMPS, YONO App, Internet Banking, NEFT and RTGS will not be available from 01:10 am to 02:45 am on 16th November i.e. customers will not be able to use these facilities for a total of 95 minutes. The bank has said that all services will resume by 02:45 pm.
ATM services will remain closed for 1 hour
Apart from this, ATM services will also be affected from 01:10 am to 02:10 pm. During this one hour, customers will not be able to do cash withdrawal or other ATM transactions from the ATM. The bank has advised customers that if they have to make small payments during this period, they can use UPI Lite, as it will not be affected by maintenance.
What is UPI Lite?
Let us tell you that UPI Lite is a payment solution. The light version of UPI is called UPI Lite. For UPI payment, you need a 6 or 4 digit UPI PIN, money can be transferred without PIN through UPI Lite.
How to activate UPI Lite feature
- First open Paytm/PhonePe/GooglePe/BHIM app
- Now click on ‘UPI Lite Activate’ option.
- Select your bank account which you want to link with UPI Lite to add money.
- Enter the amount to add to wallet.
- Enter UPI PIN.
- After this your UPI Lite Wallet account will be activated.
