New Delhi. Samsung India on Thursday presented its new innovation vision on the occasion of completion of 30 years. Under “Powering Innovation For India”, the company is preparing to make India a center of global technology development. According to this vision, in the coming years more products will be designed and developed in India, which will be launched across the world.
Samsung started in India in 1995 with one television. In three decades, the company has become the country’s largest consumer electronics brand. Today Samsung has one of the world’s largest mobile manufacturing plants in India and the company has filed more than 14,000 patents so far, which reflects its strong R&D capability.
Integrated AI Ecosystem in India
Samsung says that India is now among the few countries where integrated AI ecosystem is available in smartphones, TV, fridge, washing machine and AC. According to the company, the tech savvy of young Indian customers and their changing needs inspire the company to continuously develop new and better products.
Smart Home and AI-based Solutions
JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, said that India’s energy, creativity and aspirations have shaped the company’s success story. He said that the biggest technologies of the coming decade will come out of India, especially smart home, connected devices and AI based solutions.
Young Talent Development and CSR Initiatives
The company is also investing in grooming students and young talent. Under programs like Solve for Tomorrow, Innovation Campus and DOST, Samsung trains students in AI, IoT and digital technologies. The company’s CSR projects have so far reached 15 lakh people, with education, digital skilling and sustainability being the key areas.
Retail and Experience Studio expansion
Samsung has also strengthened its retail presence in recent years. After the Opera House in Bengaluru, the first flagship store Samsung BKC has been opened in Mumbai, where customers can experience the new products live. Apart from this, Business Experience Studios have also been established in Gurugram and Mumbai.
Direction to make India a global technology center
It is clear from this new vision of Samsung that the company considers India not just as a market but the center of its global technology strategy. The coming years will see more local insight-based technology for Indian consumers and made-in-India innovation for the world.
