Barabanki: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Mother Earth produces food to fill our stomachs, but its health should also be good, and if health is good then not only humans but the entire creation will survive. He said that many programs are currently running for this. This is a part of the campaign of National Vision of Natural Farming which has been taken forward by the Prime Minister. He always says that the first mantra to increase the income of the farmer is to reduce the cost and increase the production. This is possible if the Annadata farmer gets timely access to seeds, fertilizers, irrigation facilities and support of scientific methods.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Kisan Pathshala 8.0 of Rabi season in the Progressive Farmers Conference and Kheti Ki Baat Khet Par program organized on Friday in Daulatpur village of Barabanki. In this program where he interacted directly with the farmers after reaching the fields, CM Yogi discussed in detail the agricultural progress of Uttar Pradesh, multi-cropping farming, technological innovation, transparency of the MSP system and the efforts being made to increase the income of farmers. Progressive farmers were also honored in the program and checks and approval letters were given to farmers who were beneficiaries of various schemes.
On this occasion, improved varieties of crops, vegetables, agricultural equipment and FPO based innovations were also observed in the exhibition, while the advanced farming model of Daulatpur was said to be an inspiration for other districts of the state. He said that Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state of the country, where 25 crore people reside. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state has made significant progress in the direction of overall development in the last 11 years. Due to fertile land, adequate water resources and better connectivity, the state has become a leader in the field of agriculture and infrastructure.
Chief Minister Yogi said that Uttar Pradesh’s share in the total cultivable land of the country is 11 percent, while the state’s contribution in the national food grain supply is 21 percent. The government has ensured increase in production and reduction in costs by providing necessary facilities to the farmers from seed to market. Soil health cards, crop insurance, sugarcane payments, expansion of agricultural markets and storage and processing facilities have benefited the farmers.

He said that in the last eight years, MSP payments have been going directly to the farmers, due to which the role of middlemen has ended. In the field of irrigation, campaigns to provide water to every farm, micro irrigation, network of canals, solar pumps and water conservation have been given impetus. Farmers have been connected to scientific methods by promoting drone dosing, weed control, soil testing and natural farming. He said that efforts like food processing, cold storage, logistics, digital mandi and e-NAM to connect farmers with entrepreneurship have provided employment opportunities on a large scale.
Farmers’ produce is now easily reaching national and international markets through expressways and logistics parks. With the support of the World Bank, agricultural reforms have been accelerated in 28 low production districts, especially Purvanchal and Bundelkhand, under the UP-Agriculture project in six years at a cost of Rs 4 thousand crore. Chief Minister Yogi said that there are nine geographical climatic zones in Uttar Pradesh and work is going on to provide advanced seeds and technology according to them. He said that compared to 2017, today’s record production and transparent system have given a new direction to the progress of the state. Agricultural growth rate has been increased from 8.6 percent to 17.7 percent.
