Rahul Gandhi News: Rahul Gandhi alleged in the Lok Sabha that RSS and BJP have captured the institutions and the Election Commission. He also raised questions on not including CJI in the selection committee and changing the law. At the beginning of his speech, Rahul Gandhi said that the country is a fabric of 1.5 billion people which is woven through votes.
New Delhi. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday claimed that various institutions and the Election Commission were captured under the ‘project’ of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Participating in the discussion on electoral reforms in the Lok Sabha, he asked why the Chief Justice (CJI) was not included in the selection committee appointing the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners.
He alleged that this government changed the law in December 2023 so that no election commissioner can be punished for his decisions. He claimed that no Prime Minister in history had done this. Rahul Gandhi said that if voting becomes meaningless then Lok Sabha, Assembly or Panchayat, none will cease to exist.
Taking aim at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress leader said that after the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, the next part of their ‘project’ was to capture the institutional structure of India. He claimed, ‘RSS started capturing the institutions one by one. Everyone knows how Vice Chancellors are appointed in universities.
This claim of Rahul Gandhi was objected to by the ruling party. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that the Leader of Opposition should speak on the prescribed topic. The former Congress President said that this issue is related to votes and he is making his role on this basis. He further said that after this the aim was to capture the investigating agencies.
He claimed that the Election Commission has been captured. The Leader of Opposition also alleged that the Election Commission is taking decisions in collusion with the people sitting in the ruling party and before any election, a long period is kept for campaigning as per the schedule of the Prime Minister.
Taking aim at the ruling party, he said that they believe in the caste system and consider themselves at the top in this order. At the beginning of his speech, Rahul Gandhi said that the country is a fabric of 1.5 billion people which is woven through votes.
