Rolls-Royce registered a spurt in sales last year on the back of new models. In 2021, the company redesigned the Rolls-Royce Ghost sedan last year. With a starting price of over $300,000, it is considered a more practical and affordable alternative to the giant Phantom. Rolls Royce also introduced a black badge variant of the Ghost, which proved to be popular among buyers.
Bentley and Lamborghini are not far behind
Apart from Rolls Royale, sales of luxury cars like Bentley and Lamborghini also saw a boom last year. However, Lamborghini has not disclosed any sales figures. But, in December, CEO Stephen Winkelmann said that the year 2021 is going to be the best ever in terms of sales. Both Bentley and Lamborghini are part of Volkswagen Group.
Low interest rate increased sales
Bentley President and CEO Christophe Georges says that the record sales of 2021 should be attributed to strong economic recovery and lower interest rates. Both of these are factors that contributed to the growth in overall auto demand. However, some new models also helped in the record sales. Bentley’s sedan model Flying Spur saw a jump of 88 percent in sales.
