Telangana News: The Telangana government has started a unique and popular initiative to develop Hyderabad in Telangana as a global city. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced that some big and prominent roads of the city will be named after international celebrities and big companies of the world. Its objective is to give Hyderabad an identity on the global stage and attract international investors.
Big road named after Ratan Tata
The government has first taken the initiative to honor prominent industrialist and Padma Bhushan awardee Ratan Tata. It has been decided to name the 100 meter wide greenfield radial road starting from Raviriyala near Nehru Outer Ring Road (ORR) connecting the proposed Future City as “Ratan Tata Road”. It is noteworthy that Raviriyala Interchange has already been named “Tata Interchange”. With this, an effort is being made to recognize the growing contribution of the Tata Group to Hyderabad.
Avenue named after Donald Trump
The most discussed proposal is to name the main road in front of the US Consulate as “Donald Trump Avenue”. This will be the first time in the world that an Indian city will have a road named after former US President Donald Trump. The government will soon send a letter to the Union Ministry of External Affairs and the US Embassy to take this proposal forward. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy believes that this will further increase the international brand value of Hyderabad and strengthen investment and trade relations with America.
Google Street and Microsoft Road also proposed
The Chief Minister also hinted at the recent US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) meeting held in Delhi that some other roads in Hyderabad will soon be named after big global tech companies. According to the plan, one road can be named Google Street, the other Microsoft Road and an important intersection can be named Wipro Junction.

The Telangana government says that naming roads after individuals and companies who have made a huge contribution to the world will be a mark of respect. Also, this will help in establishing Hyderabad as an international trade centre. The government claims that this initiative will be inspiring for the people coming to the city and will strengthen the business environment.
