Road Safety Week celebrated
Focused on all 4Es of road safety i.e. engineering, enforcement, education and emergency care
New Delhi. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has set a time limit to reduce the number of road accidents in the country by fifty percent. He said that he has called for joint efforts to reduce accidents. Significantly, Road Safety Week was celebrated from 11 to 17 January.
Nitin Gadkari has said that everyone’s efforts are necessary to reduce road accidents by 50 percent before the end of 2025. Participating in a 4-hour telethon and outreach campaign “Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan” during the Road Safety Week, he said that a law will soon be brought in the country to fix the working hours of truck drivers.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is committed to reduce the number of people killed and injured in road accidents and has taken all the 4E’s of road safety i.e. Engineering, Enforcement (Implementation), Education (Education) and Emergency Care (Emergency Care) Many initiatives have been taken regarding This year, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways observed Road Safety Week from January 11 to 17, 2023 under “Swachhta Pakhwada” to spread awareness about the objective of making roads safe for all.

During the week, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways organized street shows, awareness campaigns, competitions for school and college students, road safety exhibitions in collaboration with companies, walkathons, talk shows and senior government officials at various places in Delhi. and organized several activities including panel discussions with industry personalities.
