The month of October 2025 once again proved to be very strong for Reliance Jio in the country’s telecom market. From active subscriber base to home broadband and 5G FWA, Jio has strengthened its hold in every segment. October 2025 was the month of all-round growth for Jio in the telecom industry.
According to the India Telecom October 2025 report, Jio added more active subscribers than Airtel for the eighth consecutive month in October 2025, further cementing its market leadership.
According to Jefferies report, Jio’s active market share has increased by 150bps to 43% in the last 12 months. This increase has been seen in almost every circle of the country (Metro, A, B and C), where Jio registered an increase of up to 60bps, 150bps, 170bps and 120bps respectively.
According to ICICI Securities, in the month of October alone, Jio’s active market share increased by 14bps to 43.5%, while Airtel’s share increased marginally to 35.8%. Vodafone Idea’s stake fell by 12bps to 15.6%, which is a worrying sign for the company.
Jefferies report states that increasing data penetration and strong subscriber growth of Jio are considered positive for the tariff outlook of the entire sector. Analysts believe that telecom companies may get a better environment to increase tariffs in the coming months.
Jio’s huge leap in home broadband
JioAirFiber’s aggressive strategy continued in October as well. According to JM Financial, Jio added 0.88 million new home broadband (FTTH + UBR + 5G FWA) subscribers in just one month.
ICICI Securities report shows that Jio’s home (wired) broadband market share increased by 70bps to 41.1%, from 40.4% last month. This shows that Jio’s AirFiber model is being rapidly adopted from rural to urban areas. Jio has more than 80% market in FWA (Fixed Wireless Access).
Jio has almost complete dominance in the 5G FWA segment. Jio’s FWA subscribers reached 10.2 million in October 2025. This is a growth of 7% MoM compared to last month. Jio’s market share in this segment is 80.3%, which shows its absolute leadership in India’s FWA ecosystem.
According to the report of ICICI Securities, Jio has expanded the base of FWA users at the fastest speed through Jio AirFiber.
