Raipur. The anti-Naxal campaign in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh once again proved that the brave soldiers of Mother India will never bow down to terror. As soon as secret information was received about the presence of Naxalites in the hilly forests of village Kauhapani of Bortalav police station area, the joint police team of Balaghat of Madhya Pradesh, Gondia of Maharashtra, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai and Rajnandgaon districts of Chhattisgarh set out for immediate action.
During the intense search, Naxalites attacked the security forces, in which the fearless Inspector Ashish Sharma of District Balaghat attained martyrdom. His martyrdom made the entire operation more aggressive and decisive. To surround the Naxalites, about 300 additional soldiers were included in the operation and the forest was searched for 3-4 consecutive days. STF Chhattisgarh, DRG Rajnandgaon and DRG Mohla-Manpur played a lead role in this difficult operation.
On 22 November, when the searching party reached the camp of Naxalites, seeing the heavy presence of security forces, the Naxalites left their hideout and belongings and ran into the forests. A large quantity of Naxalite material was recovered from the spot – including uniforms, pittu bags, documents, diaries, solar panels, charging sets, tents, utensils, tarpaulins, walkie-talkies, explosives and huge quantities of ration.
Blood stains were found at some distance from the encounter site, due to which it is feared that at least 3 Naxalites have been seriously injured in this encounter, out of which the condition of one is said to be very serious. According to sources, the Naxalite squad was trying to arrange medicines and doctors from the local villagers for the treatment of injured Naxalites, but the villagers opposed it and refused to cooperate. 6 parties of STF Baghera, parties of DRG Mohala and DRG Rajnandgaon participated in this campaign. During the searching, all the material left by the Naxalites has been seized.
