Shimla. Himachal Pradesh cabinet meeting was held in Shimla on Monday evening. In this meeting, the Sukhu government has again given relief to the disaster affected people. In the special package of disaster relief, the Sukhu government has increased the compensation amount. It has been decided to increase the amount of Rs 70 thousand given to disaster affected families to compensate for the loss of household items to Rs 1 lakh.
Apart from this, an important decision has also been taken to provide a special assistance package of Rs 7 lakh for houses completely damaged in case of fire, apart from this, Rs 1 lakh will be given for the purchase of household items. This decision was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu in the capital Shimla on Monday. Under the special relief package, now the disaster affected people will get a total compensation amount of Rs 8 lakh. A total of 64 agenda items were discussed in the cabinet meeting. During this period, Rs 4.32 crore was sanctioned to the Air Force for providing helicopter services during disaster situations in the state. The Cabinet also decided to reorganize the Panchayats in the state.
In the meeting, a decision was also taken to provide employment for 150 days under MNREGA. Under individual works, it was decided to provide an amount of up to Rs 2 lakh for constructing retaining walls.
The Cabinet approved the appointment of 1000 Patient Mitras in the Health Department with the aim of ensuring better patient care in health institutions. Apart from this, the cabinet has approved the creation and filling of 800 posts of constables in the police department. Along with opening of sub-fire stations at Kandaghat in Solan district and Rajgarh in Sirmaur district, approval was given to create and fill 46 posts and purchase of 4 fire tenders.
It has been decided to fill 150 Junior Engineers (Civil) as job trainees in Jal Shakti and Public Works Department.
Where were the jobs created?
In the meeting, approval was given for creation of 9 super specialty departments and creation and filling of 73 posts (Professor, Assistant Professor and Senior Resident) in Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur.
The Cabinet has decided to create and fill 27 posts of Senior Resident for the Super Specialty Department in Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, District Kangra. Approval was given for opening of new police post and creation and filling of necessary posts in Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College, Ner Chowk of Mandi district. In the meeting, it was decided to create and fill 5 posts of Junior Office Assistant (IT) in the Police Department. Approval was given to create and fill 5 posts for digital forensic facility in the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (North Range), Dharamshala.
Social Security Pension for Disability
The Cabinet has decided to provide social security pension to all persons with 40 percent or more disability. The old eligibility condition for a disabled person whose parents are employees or pensioners of government, semi-government, boards or corporations has been abolished. In the meeting, it was decided to provide 40 percent subsidy for converting 1000 petrol and diesel taxis into electric taxis under Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme-2023. The Cabinet has decided to create an integrated Special Task Force under the Home Department by merging the Anti-Narcotics Task Force with the Special Task Force. Its objective is to improve operational efficiency and create an effective agency to deal with drug related cases.
Grant of mineral concessions on forest land
Along with this, approval was also given to run anti-Chitta campaign at Panchayat level in the state. In the meeting, it was decided to purchase 10 electric bikes for highway patrolling with the aim of further strengthening road safety. It has been decided to create a new Kanungo circle in Bankhandi by dividing Haripur and Bilaspur Kanungo circles from Haripur tehsil in Kangra district. The Cabinet approved empowering the Forest Department to issue letters of intent for the grant of mineral concessions on forest land. In the meeting, it was decided to extend ‘Mukhyamantri Laghu Shopkeeper Kalyan Yojana’ to small shopkeepers in urban areas and retailers with annual turnover of less than Rs 10 lakh. Under the scheme, small shopkeepers who have been declared NPA (non-performing asset) will be provided one-time settlement assistance of up to Rs 1 lakh through the bank, which will be borne by the state government.
Reorganization of Bamsan and Hamirpur development blocks also approved
The Cabinet has also approved the reorganization of Bamsan and Hamirpur development blocks of Hamirpur district.
Approval has been given to convert Government College, Hamirpur into a dedicated science college and start a unit to start integrated B.Ed (B.Sc.) programme. In the meeting, it was decided to merge Government Senior Secondary School (Students), Hamirpur and Government Senior Secondary School, Hamirpur (Girls) to form a co-educational Senior Secondary School from the next academic session.
The Cabinet has approved to start 4-year integrated B.Ed program in government colleges located at Dharamshala, Nadaun, Chailkoti and Tikkar in district Shimla. Apart from this, approval was given to start 2-year B.P.Ed program in Government College, Saraswati Nagar in District Shimla and to start new subjects in Fine Arts College, Lohrab. Besides, it has also been decided to convert the college located at Haripur Guler in Kangra district into a Fine Arts College.
In the meeting, approval was also given to organize DPC for promotion of 805 principals of government schools, which will be chaired by Secretary (Education). Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi informed about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting, during which Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Minister Anirudh Singh was also with him.
